Fashion Update: Jogger/Harem/Hammer Pants

Lately in the fashion world, I have noticed a swift turn in the "bohemian" direction. Boho chic is totally what's in all the stores right now. It's an unusual style, difficult for me to describe. Luckily, I found a few definitions of the word on Pinterest:

There you have it- Bohemian. It's like a "different" kind of style bringing us wonderful fashion items such as slave bracelets, maxi skirts, printed shorts, oversized sweaters, crop tops, and my personal favorite... THESE PANTS!

Some stores call them hammer pants, in honor of M. C. Hammer. I've also heard them called crop pants, harem pants, genie pants, and jogger pants, but whatever you choose to call them these pants are amazing! When I first saw them in the stores I totally thought, "What is this world coming to?" One day I randomly decided to try some on at Nordstrom... changed my life!!! They are super comfy, like wearing pajamas, and they look cute on just about anyone! If you get them in basic black-and-white tribal like the ones above, or grey-and-black chevron like the ones I bought at Nordstrom Rack for seventeen bucks, they will match with just about anything!
I love the ones I bought, but when I first got them I totally thought, "What the heck do I wear with them??" The thing is, Boho style is supposed to be "wild" and "different" so really, you can wear just about anything with them. Here are seven different ways I wear my hammer pants:

Seven Stylish Ways to Wear Hammer Pants

Number 1) Casual Chic: Solid, oversized sweater with a long necklace and sandals. Super easy and super cute!

Number 2) Dressy: Dress it up a bit with a sheer formal top, a few chunky necklaces, and some nicer flats (maybe even heels?)

Number 3) Boho Chic: I'm not into the crop top thing, but if you want to go all-out-boho a white crop top with a long chunky, necklace and unique sandals. If you're like me and avoid crops tops, just wear a flowing, white blouse.

Number 4) Beach Bum: The boho designs on this Billabong sweatshirt accentuate the boho-beach bum look of the outfit. If you are truly bohemian then you would probably skip out on shoes, otherwise, sandals complete the look.

Number 5) Space Cat??: Okay, go ahead and laugh at my space cat shirt. I definitely wouldn't call this boho, I'd call it "Jessie Chic." I totally wear this one all the time; in my opinion, weird pants like these deserve an equally weird (if not then weirder) top to be worn with. And what could be more random and weird than wearing them with a space cat shirt? Honestly, get creative and try out different graphic tees with your pants.

Number 6) Simple: If it's a plain-old-t-shirt-kind-of-day, mix it up and make it a plain-old-t-shirt-with-my-harem-pants kind of day. So easy and comfy, and still very fashionable!

Number 7) The Vest Look: Finally something besides jeans that you can wear your jean vest with! Add in a graphic tee and some cute sandals to complete the look.
